Buffalo River in Arkansas

150 miles of beauty!  Perfect for a fall color float.  If you can catch the upper section, you can get some fun little rapids, but the flatness of the lower stretch is easily overlooked by it's sheer beauty.  If you enjoy bluffs and amazing wildlife -- river otters, bald eagles, even mink -- it's a good river for a day float or overnighter.  I can't wait to see the bottom 25 mile stretch!

I've been down a lot of it a few times and you're right, its beautiful this time of year and a little later when the leaves really start to change. I have been from Boxley to Hasty and from Spring Creek to Buffalo Point, for some reason I have never been on the middle section.
