Forecast thunderstorms beginning tonight and tomorrow morning. Storms end tomorrow and forecast for tomorrow night is clear and RELATIVELY cool. The water in the lake is really nice after a rain!
Load your boat tonight before the rain starts.
Game's afoot at 6!

Good game tonight. So far that has been the most fun game for me this year.
Nice to see the strangers from down south show up for their annual appearance.

Hahahaha. Actually, we may be showing up more often--we're both sore enough today to realize that this might beat us into shape. I need to get a longer boat, though.
I vote that Michael and Harrison should be banned from the same team...

Michael could only say it was the most fun because of Harrison being on the same team. The problem for the other team was our lack of experience and intensity. Play hard, short passes, and keep a boat between Michael and the ball (not easy but doable).
BB can get you into shape. I wear a heart monitor during the game and there are significant number of minutes when one goes anaerobic. And the average heart rate is good enough for a respectable workout.
Peace shamen/vincent

Jill, why in the world would you want a longer boat?
Short boats rule!

Jill, I agree with Mike. If you had had a longer boat that play when I passed you and you missed grabbing the tiny handle on my boat, then you would not have even gotten close to reaching for my boat: short boats rule. I think that if you get a short boat, thats great. If you want a long boat, that is also great. But don't go with an in between boat, b/c then you have none of the advantages. The other team was ok on offense, I just think that the lack of good tight defense is what did it. But it takes a lot of time to develop that shaboomi that you need. Also, it wasn't just Mike and I out there. Ross was all over the place, Matthew had a few great moments, and Ruthie was just a beast. I hope I didn't forget anyone.

Wow! I am really surprised to see all the post game analysis and discussion. It can definitely be hard to keep up with the long boats at times, but somehow Harrison and Michael seem to be two of the fastest boaters in the water at boatball. I think they will back me up on this, a good paddling stroke(s) is very helpful. I will be working on mine. Garrison is a smooth GM, he put together a pretty dominant team yesterday. I hope I was not too competitive yesterday, jokes were made. I am still learning the boatball ropes.

Long boat + sharp, pointy front end = nasty weapon. Hasn't anyone played with Andy or Jason?
In my short boat I would lose what little speed and stability I have. I need what few plusses I can get!

The short boats are definitely much slower than the long boats, but you can make very quick moves that are a great advantage over a mid size or long boat especially on a busy boatball day.
The long boats also have their advantage which is speed. But you can't really turn around with a single stroke and go after the ball.
The medium size boats, well, they don't turn quick and they aren't fast which is what Harrison was referring to.
Now when the long boat boys come back and play you can watch the difference and how the teams use both types of boats to their advantage.

Wait, bb isn't always this fun?? We should fix that! I thought it was more fun for me because I have only played once and since then I have learned a lot in the way of boat control. I see the advantages of a longer boat but I don't think I'd want to give up being able to turn quickly. Now I feel like I need to learn to hand roll.
