I also have an OT rush rec boat, and I love it! They are great boats, and it, too, was my first boat. Bought mine new about 5 years ago. Taking my OT rush down class II for the first time wet my appetite to try whitewater, which I did!
The reason why you are probably having difficulty rolling it, is because the rush is designed to be EXTREMELY STABLE! You know, cooler full of beer, fishing rods, gear and sandwiches-on-the-deck-type-of-stable. Rolling one is probably doable with outfitting, a "real" spray skirt, adequate flotation, and perfect technique, but it certainly won't roll as easy as a boat designed for whitewater paddling due to the wide base and flatter hull shape. Also, there is absolutely no outfitting inside it except for adjustable foot pegs that your feet slide off easily. I have never tried to roll mine.....that is....intentionally
