Sunday Day Trip. Preferably something good within 5 hours
« on: March 11, 2010, 01:57:30 PM »
I am likely stuck in town for Saturday. Which means if stuff is running, which it should be, I will be up for a day trip Sunday. Any takers?
Hopefully, it will still be on like...

There is talk of a few hitting the St. Francis. I am game for that if noone wants to hit ALABAMA. I was just looking at the gauges and Kelly Creek is a run that I have never done but isn't that far away and should be fun. Anything with water sounds good at this point! Give me a shout 901-652-2799

Kevins and I ended up heading to Bama and getting a fun run down Short creek with a couple of guys that drove all the way down from IOWA to paddle Short creek. Kevins demoed my Jefe and I finally got a playboat run down Short, which was a blast until the lake paddle out. Good trip. Anyone get up to the St. Francis and paddle with Ray?

Bummer. I had a feeling John Reb was out but I had hoped he made it anyway. We really should have had one or two of our newer local paddlers make it out for that run. Would've likely been a good trip for them too. Pretty good weather and a fun but mostly if not completely friendly river (or so I remember it). Glad you and others made it out. See you at Creek Week

Not really a bummer. The river is 2 hrs from my house and I like paddling with the Missouri people.

As far as the difficulty of the river, they do say make the easy stuff difficult so the difficult stuff is easy.

When I figure out the river better at the different levels I'll post when I'm going. For now I'm not willing to take responsibilty for newbs when I'm not sure of the lines and dangers at different levels.

Sounds like everyone had a good time, sorry I missed out, had something come up that I had to stay in town for.  Maybe next time.
