Info needed on a Necky Eskia
« on: October 06, 2009, 05:04:46 PM »
Have a opportunity to buy a used Necky Eskia 15.3ft used one time a month for 4 seasons. Around $800 boat looks good (no major scratches on the bottom) Everything is there and works really well. Just need a few opinions on the boat.

Yeah, I had a chance to buy one. I looked up reviews on it and passed. I bought a new necky recycled manitou 14 instead. Now, looking to get a qcc 600. Did you get the necky?

Yes I did get it.. and LOVE it.. My first touring yak so nothing to compare it to but I absolutely love it. Am currently looking into a 21ft carbon Kevlar one that's a custom build but it seems solid. Doubt I buy it only cause I don't have $2500 lol. but always on the look out now, guess I got the bug.

I just added a boat to my fleet. I bought a necky elaho for $700. It's used but looks new. Owner didn't use it much and took good care of it. Dimension: 16-4, 22-6, and 60pounds. Also bought a Yakima rack and a Werner kalliste paddle. Yeah, I chunked some cheese around on this one. :D  Next up: a flatwater sup board with a sweet Werner carbon paddle. Maybe in the next 3 months. How's it going with your eskia? Where are you paddling? I'm going to take my new boat to poplar tree lake. The prettiest lake around these parts in my opinion. Take care, hope your having fun with your eskia.
