Summer Roll Classes will be held at the Jewish Community Center located at 6560 Poplar Ave Wednesday nights from 7-9pm.  The cost will be $10 per session.

You will need to go in the front door and pay at the desk on the back wall.  The cost is $10 per session.  After you pay you will then drive around to the back parking lot.  They should have a gate just to the side of the pool house unlocked.  If you get there after about 7:15 the gate might be locked back and you will have to carry your boat through the pool house.

PLEASE PAY before you come around to the pool.  There is no easy way to get back to the front desk from the pool.


This map pretty much shows you what you need to know about parking and bringing your boat in.


There are not any boats for new people so we will have to bring gear for them to use, so if you are new and don't have any gear please let us know so we can be prepared for you.

I just recently joined the forum.  I would like to try the roll class this wednesday 6/16 but I don't have any gear. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could bring gear for me.  thanks. is there anything  I need to bring to class?

Jane, can you give your general size (hight and ball park weight ) so someone can bring the appropriate boat...

as far as things you can bring... if you have a comfortable mask that can be helpful, goggles can be helpful.  and if you can, stop by Outdoors Inc. and pick up a pair of nose plugs (about $10)...  unless you're someone unbothered by water in the nose...

Well if Jane will be there.. do you have room for one more.. my wed. are becoming free (er) again. Should be off work in time and I am working right down the road at the Germantown Baptist Church. 5'6" 200lbs, I got the nose plugs.. pfd and ect. Guess I need a boat as all I have are rec boats and touring boats. Thanks...

but I'm dropping a boat, paddle and skirt off earlier in the day (Sammie is using it for her class).
Sam said she'd leave it in a place you guys can get to it.  just leave it there and I'll pick it up thursday...

I will have my creek boat there that I can put you in if needed.  Would be nice to have another boat for you since I like teaching from my boat, but I can do it out of my boat.

they've got a couple of their own boats there; I'm pretty sure Danny would let us use them. I don't know if there are skirts available but I think I saw at least one in the indoor pool last week. I think they both use large size, and I'll have an extra paddle.

I will be there again this week if all goes as planned. Uh that is if I can con someone into allowing me the honors of their boat.. 5foot 6 200lbs.. How about I buy dinner and beer at stinky tacos or what ever that place is called  for the lender hahaha. That should fetch me a boat ha
