I prefer at least 4.5, best level around 6.0.  At 4.5 it's a long day.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.  I love the Big Piney!

The water is clear, the scenery is beautiful and even at levels as low as 2.25 - 2.3 at Longpool gauge - www.mooreoutdoors.com (approx. 1.65 at Hwy 164 gauge on American Whitewater), it can be great fun!  I definately prefer it to Spring River - and it's only 4 hours from Memphis!

Longpool is a great place for swimming and there are lots of places nearby for hiking or riding ATV's, so there's fun for everyone.  Unfortunately, the Booger Hollow Trading Post up the road is closed, but the Double Decker Outhouse still makes for a good picture.
