The members of FOR believe that although some improvements may be good for the riverfront, the drastic changes put forth in the plan as it now stands are not improvements, but are instead impediments to public access to the river and public enjoyment of our city's most priceless and enviable natural asset.
Any plan for changing the Promenade and the riverfront should:
• Respect and preserve Memphis' rich history, as well as maintain and enhance the beauty of the natural environment that exists along the river;
• Protect and improve, not obstruct, our open vista of the river and its far bank.[/url]
